1957 Cadillac Eldorado

1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz.
This Cadillac Eldorado has been sitting in a building since 1974. The floors and body
mounts are original with no rust. The body has been repainted once in the
original color and shows some chipping, scrapes, ect., but looks good from
20 feet. The top is OK but has shrunk some. This
Cadillac Eldorado has the nicest original
interior I have ever seen in a Biarritz. The rug has one worn spot by the
drivers feet. When you sit in the
Cadillac Eldorado the leather is still soft and the
padding underneath not all dried out. The steering wheel is like new. Even
the dash pad looks good with very minor wrinkling. All the inside courtesy
lights work as they should. The doors shut like new with the top up or down.
The rear bumper ends need chrome, but are not pitted. I have the bullets for
the exhaust ports. The saber wheels are like new with no pitting. This car
came with only the four barrel carburetor from the factory. All the gauges
work. The radio doesn’t, but the antenna works fine. The car shows 80,774
miles and although I can’t say 100% I do think these are the original miles.
The center section of the trunk carpet is gone, but the rest of the trunk
interior is there. The car runs good, but does puff some oil when I first
start and pings a little on acceleration. The transmission shifts like it
should. I have changed the fluids including the top motor. When I got the
car It had a broken rear spring. There were two new springs in the trunk
with a receipt from 1974. I put on the new springs and a set of new shocks
in the rear. The gas tank was cleaned and 4 new brake cylinders installed.
