I had a friend to try to buy a 1965 GTO once it was a hard top. However this GTO had too much rust to buy it. We were lucky to be able to take the car for a test drive. It ran great and was a lot of fun to drive. This Pontiac GTO did not even know the meaning of the word slow. Another fan of the 1965 GTO was contemporary road tester Roger Huntington .Roger Huntington once said ‘ “Pontiac Tempest GTO ordering blank building produces a winner” he was referring to the fact that the 1965 GTO remained an option package three body styles in the Tempest Le Mans series coupe the two-door hardtop and convertible. The 1965 model year that Pontiac GTO had virtually stacked dual headlights in the front fender had small hoods. The sales of the original 1964 model had been held down by auto workers strikes in abbreviated model year however, 1965 Pontiac was ready to open up all they got for this model for this year.
