It was a 1960s and there was a compact car race going on. The
1966 Chevy nova SS was built to compete against Ford's falcon
which was hot at the time and Chevys Corvair was not. There were a
lot of people that compared the Chevy Nova to the
1955 Chevy; however it didn't have the
power to go with this size look. So, by
1963 Chevy Nova offered a super
sport option for the Nova sport coupe and convertible. The SS

Chevy Nova was a lot different in the engines available for the 1966
SS Nova included the 327 which was 350 hp V-8.
Bill Thomas,
a race car tuner had constructed a high-performance nova two years earlier.
He named it the"
Bad
Bascomb". He put in Corvette independent
rear suspension the car was so fast that it makes the mention the Bill
Thomas named today.
