Two things were certain for Ford Shelby Mustang first Ford wanted a higher performance specialty version of the Mustang Shelby second and wanted a car that could compete with the Chevy Corvette. The suggested two-seat car and could be achieved by removing the back seat from the Mustang 2+2 fastback.
