Only 1,778 1968 in the Impala Super Sport coupes had the SS 427 package. The 1968 Impala super sport for 27 reflected both the design and marketing changes from last year's. This was the year the GM started with a new technique of sculpturing the body over a wire frame. Chevy also dropped the separate Impala SS series, replacing it with a new Z03 super sport option package. It was priced at $179.05, it also included the same extras that the house in the in of 1967 Impala SS series had.
