The 1968 GTX was extremely fast, even without the option of the street handing. Standard GTX equipment included a heavy duty rear suspension, heavy-duty front torsion bars, anti-sway bars a 440 Super Commando V8, foam padded front bucket seats, simulated wood grain trim on the doors and simulated wood grain trim on the instrument panel.

1968 Plymouth GTX
The Plymouth GTX continued a top Plymouth midsize line for 1968.
Like The
Plymouth RoadRunner, it was
based on the mainstream Belvedere/Satellite, but Kane standard would
stuff a RoadRunner didn't even offer such as buckets and the 440 CID super
commando V8. They shared the Hemi option, but only Plymouth GTX offered a
convertible body style. It started at $3590 in 1968 just 450 in total had a
hammy four-speed and a pistol grip shifter was a no-cost option.
