This
1969
Chevrolet Camaro ss 396. this is no
ordinary camaro, but has the
potent l78 396 cubic inch 375 horsepower solid lifter motor. this 1969 chevrolet camaro ss 396. is no clone
but the real deal!!! this car has the complete original #'s matching
drive train!!! it also has the x22 on the trim tag which only big
block cars received. the l78 motor had a
single fuel line that fed the motor and this car still has it's original
single fuel line still in place. the motor has a casting date of June
11, 1969, the engine build date is July 23, 1969 and the car was built
in the first week of october which is dead on with where it should be.
the engine casting # is 3969854 and the stamping on the front pad is
t0723jh(jh means 1969 camaro
special high performance 1969 chevrolet camaro ss 396
.375 horsepower 4 speed manual transmission).
these heads make the car very rare as only a handful of the last l78's
got the new style square port heads designed for the new ls6 motor made
for 1970 chevelle's. the intake manifold casting # is 3933163 which is
correct for the l78 as well as the correct distributor and the
alternator. the transmission is the correct original muncie m21 and also
has a matching vin # to the car as well on the case. the original 12
bolt 3:55 posi rear has the codes c bt 09 02 (camaro
3:55 posi build date sept, 02,1969 and an e below the axle code for
eaton posi) stamped into the axle tube. this car was built as a total
sleeper and has only a few factory options,
1969 Camaro SS 396
1969 Chevrolet Camaro
This 1969 chevrolet
camaro ss 396 was built for speed. we
just added power steering to make it more street able and until you hear
the car run through the headers and flowmaster mufflers you would never
guess what a punch it packs. the body on this 1969 chevrolet
camaro ss 396. is all original
sheet metal
including the rear quarter panels and floors. the exterior was recently
painted and looks nice and is very shiny. the interior is in excellent
condition and looks mostly original with the exception of the upgraded
wood steering wheel. under the hood is nice and clean as well and looks
great. the trunk is nice and solid and this is a very nice rust and
accident free car which is very hard to find. the undercarriage is very
impressive considering it has original sheet metal and is not
undercoated. mechanically this 1969 chevrolet camaro ss 396
is a superstar and is a monster. we just had the motor totally rebuilt
from top to bottom and runs as good or better then it did the day it
drove off the showroom floor back in 1969.
