1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am Phs Collectors Dream Car
The
Firebird was introduced at the very beginning of
1967 and shared a sporty two-door
closed with a four seats. The body was
construction technique
with that of
the body of the Chevy Camaro however Pontiac
Trans Am was much more expensive better equipped and fit with its own
Pontiac engines. As with the Camaro,
it was a direct competitor of the Ford Mustang.
The Pontiac Trans Am originally offered with a choice of over the head camps straight six
or large capacity V8 engine the largest being a 6.55 leader 325 hp unit the
Firebird was available as a coupe or convertible because it had the
traditional type of Pontiac split grille cleverly combined with the
front bumper, it looked more distinguished than its sister the
Chevy Camaro and, like the
GTO in the same year, it had a bonnet mounted
rear counter as an option.
