Chevy Engine Parts Mechanic or Technician

Are you a good engine mechanic? Ok I used the word mechanic. It seems
technician is the word these days. I think a mechanic is the word, why?
A mechanic is a person who uses tools to repair things (generally machinery)
or works to keep things operating properly. Mechanics possess many skills in
technical, electrical/electronic and other vocational areas. Being a good
repair technician is more than just "fixing things". A good sound repair
requires troubleshooting skills which at times requires the tech to teach
themselves how a particular system operates, often in a timely manner.
Many mechanics are specialized in a particular field such as auto mechanics,
boiler mechanics, industrial maintenance mechanics (millwrights), air
conditioning and refrigeration mechanics, aircraft mechanics, Diesel
Mechanics and Tank Mechanics in the Army. however, we are taking about
rebuilding a engine. Buying one at a great price then making it run like new
in a chevrolet 1955.
Ok so you are a ACE Mechanic/Technician I want to show you how to buy an
used engine or any chevy or chevrolet part.
First get to know the market:
-shop sites like craigslist see what is on the market. That's if you want to
buy local. The internet has made shopping more comprehensible to find what
you are looking for and how much you want to spend with out getting ripped.
I find the best place is eBay. Again Why? Because, you can search in
advanced mode to see what a chevy part
sold for. You can also see what they are selling for. Example: take a chevy
engine. right now as of 11/13/2007 there are 19 1955
chevy engines for
sale.

These fits Chevrolet. See Engines
You can also see if the seller has good feedback. Any seller with feedback
of 98% or less you would want to stay away from. Odds are you will get
ripped off or have a change of problems. However, sellers with great
feedback are why eBay is a success. I buy and sell of eBay all the time. I
am careful to who the sellers are. There are stores on eBay that have great
feedback where you can actually read what the buyers have to say about the
seller. I find comfort in that.
How about a
Intake
Manifold fits S/B Chevy . This seller has a 99.8% feedback with almost 6,000
buyer feedbacks. Where else can you find that much feedback? This means that
if you got a problem with what you bought they will refund you or help you
find what you need.
Ok here is the best part of all. You pay market price! If it is an
auction and not all sale on eBay are auctions. You pay what the market says
the price is. Not what one retailers says.
