Fender Stratocaster 1962 Sunburst
Early 1962
Stratocaster sporting a Killer Brazilian Rosewood Slab Board. It doesn't
get any better than this. Slab boards go away in early 1963 so this is
the ultimate Slab Board Strat Year
The
Fender Stratocaster guitar hit the market in 1954
The Fender company was already a factor in the electric
guitar field thanks to its success with amplifiers and the Fender
Telecaster solidbody electric guitar
, however the Stratocaster was a
huge improvement over the Telecaster. The Stratocaster had three
pickups, body contouring for comfort, and a vibrato system that kept an
instrument in tune. The minor inovations were sensible, such as the
placement of the guitar's volume knob near the bridge so a player could
easily adjust the volume, most likely with the pinky finger, without
moving the hand from the strings.
